Mentor- Mentee Program

The Student Support and Guidance Programme (SSGP) is a structured initiative designed to promote the holistic development, well-being, and academic success of students during their collegiate life. Transitioning into college and hostel environments often presents multiple challenges for students, including academic pressure, emotional stress, adjustment difficulties, interpersonal conflicts, and concerns related to health, behavior, and future career prospects. If these issues are not identified and addressed at an early stage, they may adversely affect students’ academic performance, mental health, and overall quality of life.

The mentoring system under SSGP serves as a vital support mechanism to guide students through these challenges in a supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental manner. The common problem areas and corresponding solutions outlined below provide a structured framework for mentors and mentees to identify difficulties, analyze underlying causes, and collaboratively develop practical coping and problem-solving strategies. This framework encourages open communication, self-reflection, and shared responsibility between mentors and mentees. By systematically utilizing these guidelines, mentors can offer timely guidance, while mentees can actively participate in resolving their concerns, strengthening resilience, enhancing decision-making skills, and fostering personal and professional growth throughout their academic journey.
