Adult Health Nursing Department

Overview

The Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing at College of Nursing, Nirmala Medical Centre is dedicated to equipping students with in-depth knowledge and expertise in delivering holistic care to adult patients. The department fosters critical thinking skills, preparing students to function effectively as medical-surgical nurses while also enabling them to take on extended roles as educators, managers, and researchers. The training methodology integrates simulation-based learning, skill development sessions, and OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) assessments. Additionally, the department actively engages in research initiatives at both student and faculty levels.

Objectives

  • To empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide holistic nursing care for adults with diverse medical and surgical conditions.
  • To integrate evidence-based nursing practices and identify emerging research opportunities in the field of medical-surgical nursing.
  • To stay updated with advancements in medical technology and innovative treatment modalities for critically ill adult patients.
  • To foster a sense of community responsibility by preparing students to actively participate in disaster management initiatives.
