Anti Ragging Policy
The Anti-Ragging Committee
at the College of Nursing, Nirmala Medical Centre is established to
ensure a ragging-free environment on campus, in strict compliance with
the guidelines of the Supreme Court of India and the University Grants
Commission (UGC). The committee is responsible for fostering a culture
of mutual respect and safety by implementing proactive anti-ragging
measures, policies, and legislative actions.
To prevent ragging incidents, the committee
conducts awareness programs for all batches, especially before the
induction of new students. The committee comprises a Chairperson, three
senior faculty members, and a student representative, working
collaboratively to uphold a safe and inclusive learning atmosphere at
the College of Nursing, Nirmala Medical Centre.

This policy encourages the
socialization of students within the academic environment while simultaneously
discouraging and preventing any negative acts by senior students that go
against the fundamental purpose of socio-academic integration.
- The Anti-Ragging Committee
serves as the supervisory and advisory body for planning actions to build
and maintain a ragging-free culture on the college campus.
- The committee is responsible for
designing standard operating procedures and action plans against ragging.
- The institution shall develop an Anti-Ragging
Squad, functioning under the committee’s supervision, to actively
monitor and prevent ragging incidents.
- The Anti-Ragging Squad will
conduct surprise inspections in hostels and other vulnerable locations to
detect and prevent ragging.
- The Anti-Ragging Committee
shall be led by the Principal, with members including the Vice
Principal, faculty representatives, PTA President, and student
representatives elected by the Principal.
- The committee members shall serve a
one-year term and convene at least twice a year or whenever
a case arises.
- Any student or parent may lodge
a complaint in writing to the Principal or any committee
member, or submit it via email with their name and address.
- Upon receiving a complaint, the
committee shall convene within two days to initiate an
investigation and take appropriate action.
- The committee shall handle all
disciplinary matters within the institution, referring cases to law
enforcement only when required.
- Complaints will be addressed
fairly, confidentially, and promptly.
- The institution enforces a zero-tolerance
policy against ragging, ensuring strict disciplinary action against
offenders.
- Psychological, emotional, and
physical support (such as counseling and security assistance) shall be
provided to victims upon request.
- At the time of admission, every
student and their parent/guardian must sign an anti-ragging affidavit,
affirming their commitment to a ragging-free environment.
- Daily monitoring reports on
anti-ragging measures will be submitted to the Head of Institution
for two weeks following the admission of freshers.
- The committee shall decide on
appropriate punishments based on the severity of each case, as determined
by the Anti-Ragging Squad.
- If an incident falls under penal
law, an FIR shall be filed within 24 hours of receiving such
information.
- The anti-ragging policy shall be promoted
at all levels, with discussions in staff meetings and awareness
programs conducted for all students.
- Anti-ragging posters shall be
displayed prominently on notice boards, and brochures shall be distributed
for awareness.
- All students and their parents must
submit an online anti-ragging affidavit annually at www.antiragging.in and
www.amanmovement.org.
- Regular reports on anti-ragging
measures shall be submitted to the university and regulatory
authorities as required.
