Mar George Madathikandathil

Bishop Mar George Madathikandathil
was born on May 9, 1956, in Purapuzha, under the Eparchy of
Kothamangalam. Answering his divine calling, he joined St. Joseph’s
Minor Seminary in 1971 and was ordained a priest on December 23, 1980.
After serving in various pastoral roles, he pursued higher studies in Canon
Law at the Oriental Institute in Rome, earning his doctorate in
1989. His dedicated service included appointments as a parish priest,
seminary professor, Vice-Rector, and Rector, shaping the lives of many
priests. On January 10, 2013, he was appointed as the third Bishop of
the Eparchy of Kothamangalam, officially enthroned on February 9, 2013.
His episcopal motto, “Love Never Ends” (1 Cor. 13:8), reflects
his unwavering commitment to faith, compassion, and service to the Church.
Rev. Mother Merlin FCC serves as a
pillar of leadership and inspiration at the College of Nursing, Nirmala
Medical Centre. As a dedicated member of the Franciscan Clarist
Congregation (FCC), she plays a vital role in overseeing the institution’s
growth, academic excellence, and holistic development of students. Under her
guidance, the college continues to uphold its mission of providing high-quality
nursing education, ethical values, and compassionate patient care. Her
unwavering commitment to spiritual and professional development ensures
