Nursing Foundation Department
Overview
The Department of Foundations of Nursing at College of Nursing, Nirmala Medical Centre serves as the cornerstone of nursing education. It is dedicated to equipping students with fundamental clinical skills and a strong theoretical foundation in nursing. The department emphasizes the development of bedside competencies, ensuring that novice undergraduate students are well-prepared before transitioning to real hospital settings.
Students undergo rigorous training in preclinical and simulation labs, allowing them to master essential nursing procedures in a controlled environment. Additionally, the department fosters effective communication skills through regular IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) activities in clinical settings. These learning experiences provide a solid foundation for first-year B.Sc. Nursing students, enabling them to deliver comprehensive patient care with confidence and competence.
