The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing at College of Nursing, Nirmala Medical Centre is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The health and well-being of mothers and newborns play a crucial role in shaping a healthier society. Ensuring maternal health leads to better neonatal outcomes, reducing both maternal and infant mortality and morbidity through skilled prenatal guidance and quality care.
The department is structured to equip undergraduate nursing students with in-depth knowledge and advanced clinical skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing. The curriculum fosters the development of competent midwifery practitioners, educators, managers, and researchers, enabling them to deliver high-quality care in diverse healthcare settings.
Objectives
- To assess and enhance the obstetric and gynaecological nursing competencies of faculty and students.
